Vigil on July 14, 2026 — Against Federal Cuts to Integration Assistance

The government wants to cut spending on people with disabilities.

In other words: Less help for many people.

For example:

Maybe there won’t be any school assistants anymore.

Maybe we won’t be able to decide for ourselves where to live anymore.

We don’t think that’s a good idea.

That’s why we’re holding a vigil.

A vigil is a protest.

Let’s get together and show that we’re against it.

When: Tuesday, July 14, 2026

Starting at: 12:00 p.m.

Where: In front of the NRW Ministry of Social Affairs

Fürstenwall 25, 40219 Düsseldorf

This is important:

Minister Karl-Josef Laumann is coming to see us in person.

He wants to talk to us.

Support for people with disabilities is important for everyone.

Anyone can find themselves in need of help at some point.

Due to an accident. Due to an illness. In old age.

That’s why this help isn’t just for others.

It is for society as a whole.

Do you need help getting here? Get in touch with us.

Come to the vigil. Make your voice heard.

These groups are organizing the vigil:

Assistenz Kollektiv Köln e.V., SoVD NRW, Sozialhummel gGmbH, Lebenshilfe NRW e.V., and “Selbstbestimmt Leben” Behinderter Köln e.V.
