Our new website would not have been possible without the support of two great partners:

• Kämpgen Foundation: Thanks to their support, we were able to implement key aspects of accessibility and multilingualism. The usability of the website for all users, regardless of any limitations, is important to us, and the Kämpgen Foundation has made a significant contribution to realizing this vision.
• Software AG Foundation: Thanks to the support of the Software AG Foundation, we were able to further develop the technical infrastructure, improve our visibility in search engines and make the structure of our content clearer.

Our vision for the future

We are very grateful to our supporters – and we’re not finished yet! With the support of the Software AG Foundation, we are planning exciting new features in the coming months: A peer-to-peer video advice portal will be integrated into the website. With this, we want to create a platform for direct exchange on the topics of personal assistance and self-determined living. We are also preparing a comprehensive information campaign that will bring important information about personal assistance to first points of contact.

A digital milestone for the collective

With this new website, we have taken a big step towards a digitally inclusive future thanks to the support of the foundations. We look forward to continuing on this path and expanding digital accessibility in the future. A very special thanks also goes to our great system administrator and graphic designer for the implementation!

The search was anything but easy. Although many properties are advertised as “barrier-free”, some turned out to be inaccessible. We often came across wide doors and barrier-free sanitary facilities – but the elevator was too small for wheelchairs, or the entrance area was only 50 cm wide. Such experiences show: Without involving those affected in the planning, the actual needs are often ignored.

We are therefore all the more pleased to have found a location in the Alte Feuerwache that meets our requirements and at the same time connects us with social, cultural and political initiatives.

We look forward to many joint projects and encounters at this new, inspiring location!

This year, we had the opportunity to support the MOYN Festival in Oyten near Bremen and implement barrier-free measures on the site. It was an exciting new project for our team – we didn’t know exactly what to expect and arrived with a diverse team of assistants and craftsmen.

Thanks to the overwhelming support of the festival collectives and crews, we were able to realize important steps for accessibility on site: barrier-free sanitary facilities, an inclusion camp with power supply for charging assistive devices, ramps to all floors and an information stand for orientation.

A special highlight was our “wheelchair rickshaw” service: even in stormy weather, we were able to transport people in wheelchairs safely across the site.

We look forward to developing a comprehensive inclusion concept for the MOYN Festival in the coming years and making the experience accessible to everyone.
